Holland Road Distillery is a boutique Waikato gin producer crafting award-winning, non-chill filtered London Dry gins in nano-batches using natural botanicals and traditional distilling techniques.
Holland Road Distillery is based in Eureka, just outside Hamilton in the Waikato. The distillery specialises in premium London Dry gin, combining traditional production methods with distinctive New Zealand ingredients and contemporary botanical combinations.
Its gins begin with a neutral sugarcane spirit and natural botanicals that are steeped and macerated before distillation in a custom-made copper pot still. Vapour then passes through a specially designed botanical chamber, allowing ingredients such as locally produced teas, wines, honeys and fruits to contribute additional aroma and flavour.
Holland Road produces its gin in nano-batches and does not chill filter the finished spirit. Instead, the gin is allowed to settle in stainless steel tanks, helping retain naturally occurring botanical oils and flavonoids that contribute to its mouthfeel and flavour complexity. Bottles are then hand labelled.
The current range includes Classic London Dry Gin, Grapefruit & Kawakawa, Sauvignon Blanc & Green Tea, and Ginseng & Manuka Honey. Ingredients used across these expressions include native kawakawa, mānuka and kānuka honey, locally grown citrus, organic green tea, Sauvignon Blanc and green yuzu alongside traditional gin botanicals such as juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice root.
Holland Road has recently entered a new chapter under Bill Silcock and his son Rob. Production remains in Eureka, close to where the brand began, while founder Terry continues to collaborate with the new team to maintain the established recipes and production standards.
