Pōkeno Alchemy is a bold, rich New Zealand single malt whisky crafted from some of the distillery’s oldest stocks and matured in an array of six cask types for layered complexity.
The name Alchemy reflects the creative blending and maturation process behind this expression. Pōkeno’s team combined fully matured whiskies that previously rested in six different casks including Pedro Ximenez sherry butts and hogsheads, lightly and medium‑toasted virgin American oak, and ruby and tawny port barriques - to produce one of their richest releases yet. This 700 ml whisky opens with ripe red fruit and dark chocolate aromatics, evolving into notes of Black Forest gateau, rich honey, caramel and vanilla beans, culminating in a long, fruity finish.
