Waiheke London Dry Gin

A contemporary island twist on the classic London Dry style, with juniper at its heart and enriched with macadamia and pink peppercorn.

Waiheke London Dry Gin is the distillery’s refined take on the timeless London Dry style. Crafted in Kerikeri over an overnight maceration process, it features traditional juniper and citrus peel, boosted by locally sourced macadamia for a creamy mouthfeel and a touch of pink peppercorn for warmth and depth. Bottled at 40% ABV, this award-winning gin earned a Silver medal at the 2021 New Zealand Spirit Awards and Bronze at NZ Spirits Awards 2022, showcasing its blend of classic structure and local flavour. It pairs beautifully with premium gin tonic and a grapefruit slice, offering a drinkable yet sophisticated profile.

Grapefruit twist for aromatic lift

Waiheke London Dry Gin — Island Craft, Quietly Exceptional. Some gins shout. This one knows it doesn't need to. I met this one at the Auckland Boat Show — which felt entirely appropriate for a gin made on Waiheke Island. Got to meet the makers in person, and there's a confidence about people who know they've made something good. Great label design too — clean and considered, just like the gin itself. Distilled where long lunches turn into late afternoons and the sea is never far from view, this is a London Dry shaped by its surroundings. Classic juniper at the core — crisp, dry, unmistakable. Bright citrus lifts the palate, soft spice follows, and the finish is smooth and lingering with what I can only describe as coastal clarity. The macadamia brings an enriching creaminess that sets it apart, and pink peppercorn adds just enough earthy warmth to keep things interesting. My 3-in-1 method: 1. Straight — find that juniper, let the citrus lift it 2. On ice — clean and calm, the spice settles in beautifully 3. With tonic — East Imperial is my pick; no excess, no gimmicks Worth noting — they also do a G&T in a can, and it's excellent. Perfect for the boat. Pour it over ice. Share it with friends. This is Waiheke, in a glass.
